Engineering Capacity/Embedded Specialists
The right engineers. Inside your workflow.
For engineering teams that already run their own backlog and delivery cadence under a technical lead, and need specialist contribution. CREA-KO engineers join your team and work under your direction, in your repositories and to your standards, with no parallel vendor process to run.
How a specialist joins your team.
Five stations, in order. You confirm each one before the next, so the specialist arrives in a team that is ready for them.
Your team
The engineering lead, backlog and cadence the specialist will work inside.
Owned by youThe role
The competency the work needs, defined from your brief and tested in a technical conversation.
Agreed togetherThe environment
Accounts, repositories, tools and environments, provisioned under your approval.
Owned by youThe practice
Your planning, review and reporting rhythm. The specialist works inside it, not beside it.
Owned by youThe contribution
Work delivered against the responsibilities agreed for the role.
Delivered by CREA-KO
Your systems remain the system of record.
An embedded specialist works in your environment, never alongside it. Nothing that matters lives anywhere you cannot see.
Code review
Every change passes through your review process and your approval gates.
Issue tracking
Work is tracked in your tools and prioritized by your lead.
Security and access
Access is granted, scoped and withdrawn by you, under your policy.
Repository conventions
Branching, commits, tests and documentation follow your conventions.
Documentation
Knowledge is written into your documentation, where your team will look for it.
Roles we can responsibly provide.
Specialists come from the disciplines CREA-KO practises in its own engineering. Each role is described by what a specialist typically takes on inside your team.
Application and backend engineer
Takes features and services through your backlog: business logic, APIs and the tests that keep them honest.
Platform, cloud and DevOps engineer
Strengthens how your software is built and shipped, from pipelines and infrastructure as code to container platforms in controlled environments.
Integration engineer
Connects your product to the systems around it, across data exchange, identity and access, and workflow automation, and keeps those connections dependable.
Data and AI engineer
Builds data pipelines and AI capabilities into a product your team already owns and runs.
We put a specialist forward only when we are confident the role can be staffed well. If it cannot, we say so instead of proposing the nearest fit.
Over the life of an engagement.
No phase carries a fixed duration. Each is set against your onboarding process and the role.
Start
Role brief, competency review and a technical conversation with your engineers, followed by your approval.
Onboarding
Access, tools and practices, with early work scoped so fit can be judged on real tasks.
Steady contribution
Work inside your cadence, with periodic check-ins on fit, output and the arrangement itself.
Handover
A planned transfer of knowledge, documentation and access when the engagement changes or ends.
Who is responsible for what.
Set out before work begins, so nothing is discovered halfway through it.

Is this the right model?
Embedded specialists work when your team can lead them. When it cannot, another model serves you better.
It fits when
- Your team can direct the workAn engineering lead sets priorities and reviews output day to day.
- The gap is a skill or capacityA defined role is missing, or your team needs more hands in an area it already runs.
- Your practices are establishedPlanning, review and delivery already work; the specialist joins them.
Choose differently when
- Nobody can direct the work day to dayA dedicated team carries its own coordination. Dedicated Engineering Teams
- You need a whole workstream deliveredThat is stream-level output, not individual reinforcement. Dedicated Engineering Teams
- You want CREA-KO to own the projectFrom requirements to delivery, with CREA-KO accountable for the result. Custom Software Development
What technical evaluators ask.
Answered as the engagement will actually run.
- How are specialists assessed before we commit?
- You review the proposed engineer and hold a technical conversation with them, then decide. If the fit is wrong, we propose someone else, or tell you that we cannot staff the role well.
- How will the specialist communicate with our team?
- In your channels and at your meetings. The overlap with your working hours is agreed before work begins rather than assumed.
- What do we need in place for integration to work?
- An engineering lead who directs the work, a defined backlog, and access granted under your policy. Specialists settle fastest into teams whose practices are already clear.
- What if a specialist leaves or needs to be replaced?
- Replacement follows the agreement: a new engineer is matched, introduced and onboarded through the same steps, with a handover from the outgoing specialist wherever possible.
- Who owns the code a specialist writes?
- Ownership of code and work product, confidentiality and any restrictions are written into the agreement before the specialist receives access.
Need a workstream delivered, not a team reinforced?
When the need is sustained output on a defined stream rather than individual skills inside your team, a dedicated engineering team is the stronger model.
Describe the role. We will tell you plainly whether we can staff it.
Include the discipline, the team it joins, your working hours and when you would need the engineer to start.
